America is a country that runs on rules. These rules are written in a very important book called the Constitution. The Constitution helps make sure that leaders are fair, people are free, and everyone has rights.
When people in power try to break these rules. That is dangerous for our country. Here are some things that our current administration is doing that is going against the Constitution and hurting our democracy:
1. Restricting Peoples Right to Vote
The Constitution says that all citizens have the right to vote. Many in our current government are tring to stop people from voting or making it too hard to vote, that’s not fair—and it goes against our Constitution.
2. Trying to Stay in Power After Losing
In America, if you lose an election, you step down. When leaders try to stay in power even when they lose, that breaking the rules. It’s not how our democracy works.
3. Controlling the Courts
Judges are supposed to be fair and follow the law—not follow a president or leader. Our current president and his administration are trying to control the courts, it’s a big problem. It means as American might not get fair trials.
4. Stopping Free Speech and the Press
The Constitution also says people can speak their minds and that the news needs to tell the truth. If a leader tries to stop people from speaking or tells the news what to say, that’s a danger to our basic freedom.
5. Using the Government for Themselves
Leaders are supposed to help everyone—not just themselves, their family, or their friends. If they use their job to get money or power, that’s not what the Constitution allows.
Why It Matters
The Constitution is like a giant rulebook for fairness. It protects everyone’s rights. If leaders break these rules, it can hurt our country, our freedoms, and the way we live.
We all have to help protect the rules, speak up, and take care of our democracy—because it belongs to all of us.
